Good pedal steel players are hard to find in Holland and Texas Renegade is more than pleased to have Theo Phielix within their league. A long, long time ago, Theo played bass and lapsteel, but since 20 years the pedal steel has stolen his heart. 65 years of age, Theo has more than a lifetime of experience in music. Bands like “Silver Dollar Band”, “Laredo”, “Single Side Band”, “Rhapsody”, “Tepefy” and “Flame” are associated with his name. Because he has been officially retired, Theo fills his time listening to his favourite “steelcollegues” like Buddy Emmonds, Hall Rugg and Speedy West. Theo enjoys authentic country music and likes to watch old tapes of Hank Williams and Merle Travis. Being a former corporal in the Royal Dutch Air Force, Theo lives in Ede.
