The love of music runs Peter through his veins. His grandfather and father were both drummers and Peter was given his own drum and suit for the wind-band at an early age. Because the self made guitar (by his father) was too big for his brother, Peter got the guitar and ever since then he had never let go of this instrument.
Together with friends of the school of music he started in the early 60s “The Wooltown Rockers”, Peter’s first band. Via the blues band “The Tramps” Peter came in contact with country music in 1968. He started his own country band and released a single which ended up high in the charts. He did a lot of studio work and released the instrumental album “Peter Hill Plays the great country & western hits”. This album has been re-released twice. With the “Peter Hill Band” he backed up a lot of big country stars like Wanda Jackson, Dave Dudley and Freddy Fender. With the same band he opened for a.o. Johnny Cash. In short: a well known guitar player who has earned his keep. Peter lives together with all his guitars in Tilburg.
